A seminar on the protection of certifying officers
A copy of a document may look harmless. Until it starts replacing the original.
In cooperation with VAVS s. r. o., we prepared the practical part of a seminar on document certification on behalf of the Institute of Forensic Disciplines Prague. Mgr. Vojtěch Skořepa focused on distinguishing an original document from a printed copy, working with a magnifying glass, and following a safe procedure when doubts arise about a submitted document.
This was not an expert examination. It was about a simple routine at the counter: pausing, looking closely, identifying warning signs, and giving a clear, factual reason for the next step. Because it is not enough to simply “get it right”. What matters is being able to explain why.
In the end, the issue may not be only an error in certification, but above all a person who has to defend themselves against a document they never signed.
